This week, Kogan.co.uk steps up its assault on the big name brands in Britain. We are now selling Android tablets at prices never before seen in the UK, making the new technology more affordable for all.
The Kogan direct business model -- designing, assembling and delivering these new tablets straight to customers -- means we can cut out all the middlemen, trim the fat, and keep prices extremely low.
Today we unveil the new Agora 8” Tablet (starting at £119) and Agora 10” Tablet (starting at £149), both powered by Android.
Both models have bright, 4:3 ratio capacitive touchscreens, revamped lightweight designs, a wealth of input and output options, and will ship direct to customers with a bundled protective pouch.
There’s a lot of hype around tablets and the so-called post-PC era of consumer electronics. It’s difficult to leave your house these days without seeing someone using a tablet.
But, a lot of people are still concerned about the expense of the tablets on the market, and can’t justify spending over £500 on an entertainment device.
We’re now entering the tablet wars in a concerted way and ensuring that we have the best value option.
The Kogan Agora 7” Tablet we launched earlier in the year was a roaring success, selling out multiple production runs within days. But we have had a lot of constructive feedback over the past few months in the Kogan community that have resulted in direct changes to the new range.
As a result, we know we’re creating an device that will be loved by anyone wanting to own their own tablet without feeling guilty for forking out an arm and a leg.

I have ordered a tablet with you and the parcel was delivered by CityLink on the 24th Nov. The CityLink driver gave my parcel to a random person smoking outside my building. The parcel has been signed by somebody called Tom who has now disappeared with my tablet.
After 6 days from my emails I have no answer, no telephone number to call and the live chat service is never online!!!

With Android 2.3 on them no, the new tablets won't be loved by everyone. The 7in tablet was a nice piece of hardware IMO, and as a media player, it's fine, but web browsing and email use was painful, almost unusable, due to the limitations of the relevant software on Android 2.3. I'd happily buy a tablet from Kogan again,but not one running Android 2.3. I'd rather have Lubuntu or Xubuntu on it than Android 2.3!
